Mark Grimes is a great guy, someone who really wants to get people out there making things happen. When he first mentioned this NED phianthropic franchise idea I liked his passion for it, but most of all for the simplicity of NED. This is ordinary people helping each other by purchasing each others products and getting involved in the world we share together. There are stories, discussions, gatherings on the future of AIDS prevention or resolution for the people of the Sudan. This is gifting with purpose in a transparent package that smacks of geniune sweetness. NED is located with the Tour de Crepe in the Alberta Arts district: Ned/Portland - 2921 NE Alberta Portland, OR 97211 Let him know that you're a friend of evonne's from Tribe and he'll give you the best cup of joe you've ever had (or so he tells me, I'm no joe drinker!). Here's more on NED from Mark: Ned will have weekly and monthly meetings on better world topics ranging from Millennium Development Goals, poverty, trafficking, HIV/AIDS, education, art and much more. There will be group documentary screenings, speakers, and various ways to people to connect with their community (and globally). Space will be given for free to local nonprofits for members meetings, board meetings and fundraising events.
