i couldn't agree more with this article. actually, i could agree more. i've always felt that just because animals do not speak english it doesn't mean they don't have the capacity for language. language seems to be on every critic's tongues when putting animals beneath humans on the evolutionary scale. it's about time science began catching up. and i'm sure i don't need to mention the lack of reciprocity on our part when apes learned sign language. if animals can communicate with each other (of course they do) and also learn to communicate with humans via our language, i'm hoping more of us will begin to look at other species differently, with a little more regard and awe. we as a species might learn something from other types of people. - jadene , posted 02/05/08
