Good Organic Yummy Food
I've been going to the Vita for along time now and personally know the new owners. They run a very eco-conscious business. Most of the food is organic and no hydrogenated oil is used. All of the eggs are free range and the burgers are 100% hormone free. The new vegan bloody mary is spiced up with wasbi. The patio is one of the best places to eat in the summer. - TRI , posted 12/08/06

i use to work there
i wrote a bad review when i was really angry at the new owner.....im not angry now.....my only comment is if you want local organic food make sure to ask you sever if thats what your actually getting....also ask if they use hydrogenated oils still...ask if theve swithced to organic breads and chesses....basically considering the new owners menu all these things should be organic....anyway im glad the new owner fired me because ive been focusing my energy on what i really want out of my life....MUSIC!!!!!.....but i do miss all my old coworkers.....have a great day!!!! - irish , posted 02/26/07

Fake meat, yumyum.
Their gravy used to be excellent. Now it's simply okay. Their Tofurkey sandwich is one of the yummiest things I have ever put in my mouth. Get it with avocado AND cranberry sauce. Mexican corn cakes are sooo good. Don't drink the water- it tastes like plastic. EEW. RIP Chez What - Emilie , posted 01/30/06

Auggghhh, vegan nachos, yummmm
This place needs more better ratings. It's probably cuz everyone already knows.

Go to Vita now and have delicious vegan nachos with vegan sour cream and vegan cheese sauce fantasticness.

Plus many other delicious items, like the biscuits and gravy, etc.

But oh those nachos... - Sioen , posted 01/10/06

Yum yum give me some
I LOVE the Mexican corn cakes on the brunch menu. They are so good!! They are even good with the side of vegan cheese. I just wish there was a Vita cafe in Vancouver where I live. - Lynn , posted 10/18/05

I love vegetables. And beer.
Vita has veggies. They also have hamburgers and beer, and are open until a respectable hour during the week (eleven I think?). The food is cheap, healthful, and hella tasty. Go there. - amy , posted 04/29/05

My Favorite Veggie Restaurant in Portland
Way down there on Alberta is The Vita Cafe. Vegetarians probably already know about this place, but if you don't - you must go and try and their vegan nachos, vegan biscuits and gravy, and vegan fish and chips. Yes, even with vegan tartar sauce. Microbrews on tap, a cool vibe, nice people, and it's cheap cheap cheap! For your carnivorous friends, there's organic free range chicken stuff and organic burgers too. - Henna , posted 03/09/05
