Great Show-Not so great Food
We recently visited Tony Starlight's on Sandy Blvd for a dinner show. The show is definately entertaining in a kitsch lounge singer sort of way. Tony engaged the audience and had most everyone laughing.

The dinner, however, left much to be desired. If you have ever been to a Tony & Tina's Wedding play, then you will understand the presentation at Tony Starlight's. The food looked like it had just kind of been plopped on the too large plate. The food portions themself were adequate, it was just that the plate was too damn large--making the presentation even less appetizing. Part of me thinks this may be part of the show, but without knowing for sure I just looked at the plate and chuckled inside.

The food itself was not bad, although my potatoes were a tad cold. We had mushrooms for the appetizer and, again, it lacked in presentation. My suggestion would be that if serving white mushrooms in a white sauce, then try not to serve it in a white serving dish.

Good wine selection, and the Spanish Coffee was fine. Not as good as Huber's, but then again, who can compete with the Huber's Spanish Coffee.

This is a fun place to go, but don't go solely for the food or you'll be disappointed. - , posted 12/02/07
