excellent coffee and eats!
I always go to the Red and Black when visiting my sister; they have great coffe, tofutti cream cheese for my bagel, and lots of other yummy looking tidbits to eat! I like sitting at the big tables with the paper, loafing and catching up. - Jenni , posted 03/09/07

their sandwiches rock!
The atmosphere is pretty trendy but thats not all bad. They have some great music (Jason Webley), free geek computers, use good ingredients and have awesome vegetarian sandwiches. When I crave a good sandwich I must get one of there TLT's! - Lauren , posted 12/27/05

sort of grody
It was o.k.....and if you are part of the crowd where you can meet friends, why not? But for a first time visit, well, let's just say it is very down to earth. - joan , posted 12/25/05

Wholesome Food
In addition to what was previous mentioned, they also have wholesome food available at modest prices. A good place for short meetings of two to four people, if you are in this neighborhood. - Unsubscribed , posted 11/23/05

Love this place
Worker-owned! Terrific coffee and veg-friendly food. Great ambience of local fellow lefties and free wi-fi. Best progressive/radical community bulletin boards in town too. - Emily , posted 08/06/05
