Excellent guide and reference
I especially enjoyed the part about friends dealing with the death of a loved one and how they took over, prepared the body and creamated him themselves. It was inspiring. - Unsubscribed , posted 08/17/07

Practical Self-Help in the Face of Death
Neopagans and witchy types will be famliar with Starhawk and the Reclaiming Collective, but this book contains a lot of practical advice and non-sectarian guided meditation stuff for seculars as well. Designed to provide practical help around anticipated and sudden death, the first two sections are primarily Pagan-oriented (with many rituals) and the remaining sections more practical (the dying process, issues around different kinds of death, carrying on). The sample living wills and suggestions for preparing one's own memorial service seemed especially useful for the living, and anticipating one's own death is always a good thing.

Kudos to Reclaiming, Starhawk and M. Macha Nightmare for a book that nicely fills an empty niche. The best book on death and dying I have read since Kubler-Ross. - Mac Rory , posted 08/13/07
