Went there the other night, Just chill playing pool, good drinks and the food was awsome.
The people that work there are pretty friendly and the like the patio it is unlike any other. - slumlord , posted 10/24/06

Cool venue, Crappy service
The space is awesome- it feels really retro, swank and not in a creepy kind of way.

The service is beyond terrible. With almost no one in there, they didn't even have the courtesy to say, hey, you will need to order at the bar. Nope- if you like rude, better than you bartenders who think they are doing you a favor by acknowledging that you exist and then being really friendly for the 2 minutes it takes to pay your bill and determine a tip- then this is your place. - , posted 01/09/06

Overrated
I tried to get in here with a small group of friends, one day. The drinks are overpriced (my friend paid $10 for a long island?!), the food sounded/looked good, but except during happy hour was incredibly overpriced.

The atmosphere is nice; candles and ball lamps, but it was entirely too smokey and noisey to hold an effective conversation or be able to breathe peacefully. - Unsubscribed , posted 06/22/05

This place must've seen its better years already.
I've only been in town a few years, but the best stories I've heard about this bar, took place years ago. Currently, this place is dark, which is best for the downstairs decor, simply so you don't look around at much. The drinks and fries are pretty good and there is almost always a booth available. - Unsubscribed , posted 06/14/05

best dive bar in the city
Part of the actual Shanghai Tunnel of the Portland Historical Society... this smokey subterrainien bar not only has mystery, but some of the best bar food in town. Get a large bowl of udon noodles dripping with wild mushrooms, or the most amazing nachos that are TO DIE FOR. Try the seared Ahi Tuna! Or... just suck on a cigarette and drink PBR for all I care. - Unsubscribed , posted 01/05/05
