Best vegan food in PDX
at least in my opinion...make the trip up there! They hold 1st amendment movie nights, live jazz once a week.....AND they use biodegradable to go home containers! Can it get any better?! The portions are out of this world...totally worth the price you pay. A vegans whole-in-one. - Farm Fairy , posted 03/26/08

the food isn't bad.but the service needs help
vegan dining is a pretty iffy thing. doing without meat or dairy requires a lot of creativity to be successful.PE does fine in that aspect. But the cook is not respected when the server 'forgets' your order and you have to ask after 25 minutes .. only to find that she got confused, and 'gave' your order to another customer.

The hippy vibe is fine until your ready to go next door to burgerville just to eat. - jOe , posted 11/26/07

LOVE IT. MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT!
proper eats has some of the best veggie meals i have ever had in my LIFE! They are so creative and i am NEVER dissapointed. A nice staff to boot and some great music especially on Sundays (DJ MOM). Kombucha smoothies and also some great beer on tap. YUMMMY! - ~crisea~ , posted 07/06/07

This place alone is a reason to go to St. Johns!
OK, this place is completely vegan and it is GOOD!
I don't like reuben sandwiches but their vegan reuben is amazing.
They have a cozy space, a great open kitchen with vegan food, good beer choices (all organic), coffee in the daytime, and a small stage that sometimes has DJs in the evenings..
(The specials menu is sometimes a little hard to read.)
AND you can shop for some great produce and groceries too. - Erico , posted 11/06/06
