worlds best
The world's best bookstore, bar none. When I was in college in New York years ago professors would rave about it when I told them I was from Portland. I had the same experience meeting travelers who'd been there when I lived in Japan. Powell's is one of the reasons I miss Portland so much whenever I'm away. Borges said, "I've always imagined heaven would be some kind of library." Being at Powell's, I know exactly what he meant. I can spend hours there and always come away with some amazing finds. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/15/06

The best, biggest and most interesting bookstore I"ve ever seen
It's true, what more could you ask for?
This is a destination, something to do all day if you want.

How can it get old, it's so big?

Great selection
Great place, enormous, with an impressive inventory. The prices are a bit higher than most used bookstores, but they pay well for the items you bring in to sell. A regular stop for me after work. - rousselle , posted 06/14/05

Best and Biggest Bookstore
You could spend hours searching titles, getting lost in their isles and floors of books. And then when you've found just the right ones, go to their coffee shop and cozy in for a few hours with a drink and a snack. Hands down the best bookstore in the county. - aaryn , posted 06/02/05
