The Astoria Pig N Pancake keeps popping up on my Tribe login page. Passing through Astoria at lunch time with family was the perfect opportunity for an in depth reveiw...

There was a parade in town that was rerouted due to a bomb scare. This resulted in slow traffic and the PNP was busy. However, we were attended to right away, placed on a list, with about a 15 min wait. Our order was taken shortly thereafter. Not long after that, the food arrived. There were 5 of us, and for awhile, we only had 2 sets of silverware. The waitress brought us another 3 sets and handed them all off in a bunch for us to distribute. Our coffees were topped off on a regular basis.

Ali had a bacon cheeseburger. She said it was good, but pointed out that it was constructed upside down in the bun. The topping parts on the burger were closest to the bottom half of the bun. The bottom of the burger was up against the inside top portion of the bun. I think she was able to correct this without much difficulty.

Luke had banana pancakes. He thought they were good. He said the orange/pineapple sauce that came with them took some getting used to. I tested them out with maple syrup and I thought they were quite good as well.

Amanda had the lo-cal salmon dinner. She liked it. I tried some of the salmon...nothing too special.

Maxwell had the veggie omelette, he thought it was good. There was a lot of cheese in there....it made a string from the plate to his mouth.

I had the Manhattan Crepes. They were not all that flavorful. I tried the berry sauce and that only helped somewhat. I also tried them with maple syrup but that didn't add much. I let Ali and Maxwell try some without giving away my opinion. They both thought something was lacking.

A nice part about the atmosphere is that you can look out the window and see cars up on the Astoria bridge.

I recommend the banana pancakes, and if you don't like the orange/pineapple sauce, get them to bring you maple syrup. - Steven , posted 08/12/07

bring mouthwash
This is the worst breakfast I have ever had.

An egg sizzling in black oil on the dirty sidewalk is more appealing.
