Best Date spot in portland
chocolate cake and shiraz... deadly combo... Wait staff? Nice but typical Portland... but the location, wine list and food make up for it. also the owner is really nice. - Unsubscribed , posted 03/10/06

Utterly unique
In summer I took some friends to the Pied Cow and had just the best time. The bubbling fountains, lush gardens, beautiful gardens and exstensive menu truly make this a place to try if you live in Portland. Try the Kava and rent a hookah too! - Unsubscribed , posted 11/03/05

"day and night"
The Pied Cow's selection of coffee and drinks are excellent. In the evenings it's an intimate place to meet a friend for drinks. However I do not at all recommend their Sunday Morning brunch. I went by on two occaisons and found the service to be absolutely terrible. On both instances the place was nearly empty, yet getting the attention of the servers to be a chore. On the second occaison the server was absolutely rude, in contrast to the laid back tone of the place. I had waited nearly 30 minutes for a cup of decaf, and I got a lecture (in front of a friend) on She would get to it when SHE had time. There was only one other table filled at this time, so I am not sure what she had to do. On both occaisos I was able to hear the lively personal conversations coming from the kitchen, which apparently took precedence over customer service. Were it not for these experiences I would have given the Pied Cow 5 stars, but I just can't do that. Maybe the sunday servers will eventually learn that working in a cool, hip place is still actually work and brush up on thier sadly lacking customer service skills. - rousselle , posted 06/14/05

hookas and imported beers oh my.
Summer is the time of year that this cafe shines. The cafe itself is a lovely old victorian, but in the summer you can sit outside in their extensive garden. The beer selection is vast and the desserts are rich. - Cap'n , posted 06/01/05
