New in a familiar way.
One of my new favorite places. Pleasant company helps, of course, but the Maiden stands on her own merits. If you're familiar with the Sapphire Hotel, the Maiden will seem familiar, as well, and in a very good way. Somewhat more subdued (meaning quiet and casual) than I can ever remember the Sapphire being, the atmosphere and attentive service (nice to be greeted at the door by consummate owner/manager Sheila Baraga) are conducive to conversation and late nights. They poured us what seemed to be fairly substantial shots of tequila, too. Didn't try the food, but the menu looks inviting and I expect I'll give it a go next time by. Which I hope will be soon.
