i believe in the philosophy of gypsy nation. every time I dance I become ecstatic. channelling healinmg energy from the divine source of love within to the earth. I pray for guidance as I dance and I work out unresolved emotions as I dance. I truly believe in the healing power of dance and music.... I personally perfer live music. And even a living DJ that can feel the energy of the group and choose songs accordingly makes a huge difference. (as contrasted to taped music)
In my experience of Gypsy nation in Taos is fair, and growing beautifully powerful. I read that it is a community dance space and community does not thrive without children. I am a mother and I felt that when I brought my child, his energy was not fully welcomed. I was surprised that there was not an opening for this delightful fun and free childhood energy. "Unless we are as pure and free as little children we will not enter the complete kingdom of heaven or the queendom of zion."
I also thought the intention setting was a great idea, but lacked the truth of spontaneity. It was over-directed.There is a presence of being in the moment and not being in control of the situation that make miracles happen. I know this is just an opinion that is ever shifting and not necessarily the truth, but I hope this feedback lends a hand in creating an awesome sacred dance space. Let us dance to heal the earth..... - TREE , posted 12/19/06

Gypsie Nation - Dance for Planetary Healing
Gypsie Nation expanding to more cities

Gypsie Nation is looking for your involvement.

We are an organization offering playful freestyle dance rituals for
planetary medicine (www.gypsienation.com)

Our prayerful and intentional environments are supported by exotic
ancient and contemporary tribal music.

Initiated on the Big Island of Hawai’i in 2004, these participatory
dances are now offered weekly in Seattle (WA), Olympia(WA), Taos (NM)
and Boulder (CO).

We are currently building teams to start new dances in 2007 in the
following locations:

Santa Fe (NM)
Sedona (AZ)
Portland and Bend (OR)
Missoula (MT)

Some people in Boston, Montreal and New Jersey have also expressed an
interest in starting new dances in their community\ies.
