 We figured that since Bruce is working the weekend shift anyway, let's use the spot for convenient networking with other night owls and as a stable location for "connecting the dots." We may even be able to create another pirate haven. WE should definately keep it in mind for after hours. The owner replaced the wood with a gas fireplace ;( It seems quite possible we can XLR8 the scene, though. The owner seems to be open and interested in activities like hosting a DJ music scene, once in a while, even poetry readings-- we hope to bring in extra business so that I could work there too ;) Make a good team, we do, so please come to visit. a previous negative interaction with the owner has ensured i will not return. my partner and i went there 1 evening for in order that he might have a beverage and use wifi; i wished nothing. the owner was rudely insistent that all patrons in the establishment had to make a minumum purchase in order to remain. as a person desirious of no beverage i was therefore unwelcome, despite his contribution to the coffers and the fact we were together. we left. never been back, never goin' back. the combination of dead animals on the walls and blond-stained log-cabin construction is highly reminiscient of wisconsin, the state in which i attended college. there is nothing *Nothing* to recommend this establishment in my book. - Unsubscribed , posted 02/15/06 |

Where else can you sit in front of a stone fireplace and surround yourself in a Mountain Lodge atmosphere while enjoying your coffee, without ever leaving the city? They have a Rustic Lodge decor(bears and moose and log furniture... OH MY) and great service. They provide both Wired and Wireless Internet Access. Fireside is open 24 hours. Their menu according to them: Fireside offers a wide variety of coffee drinks, both hot and iced. We also offer several flavors of Smoothies and Italian Sodas. Hot and cold sandwiches are made to order as well as Chef Salads and Fruit Salads. Pastries, muffins, coffee cake, biscotti and/or other desserts are also available. - Rowan , posted 12/11/05 |

This is a kickass little place to go pretty much during the day. It is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. It reminds me of being out in nature, they have some very cool paintings, statues, High Speed Internet Access and Coffee (I reccomend the Avalanche) I give it 5 stars so check it out! - Angie , posted 10/03/05 |

I live off of Powell blvd and this is pretty much the only coffee shop I've hung out in around there. They've wi-fi and a number of tables. Tables! so one has enough room to do homework! We are a 24 hour 7 day a week wired and wireless coffee house, wood/lodge type decor, Live Jazz on Saturday nights 9-11pm, sandwiches and plenty of coffee choices, fair priced, excellent baristas, and in need of some more word of mouth and customers. So the fireside, a great place to go if its afterhours. Folks are friendly and the connection is fast (wireless). There's also a few computers you can use. The new $2.50 minimum to use the internet is a bit of a drag. Mostly cause I dont want to buy $2.50 right away but almost always will over the course of an evening. With two people going, its a snap to fill. The wooden furniture, while aesthetially pleasing, leaves something to be desired in terms of comfort. Prices are reasonable and there is food.
