Re: Book: The Medici Wedding of 1589
Having read this book a number of years ago I would highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in theatre to convey political thought, and ideas. Brilliantly written with superb color plates this is a most have for those interested both in the Medici and Socio-politics. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/20/05

For Italian Renaissance fans
This book by James M. Saslow (Yale University Press 1996) details the wedding feste of Grand Duke Ferdinando and Christine de Lorraine: " the reconstruction of the wedding events, as well as the preparations for them-a treatment of the total celebration..." (Intro. p.3).Beautiful set and costuming sketches. Plate 8 of two dancing women would be fantastic to see recreated! A scholastic work of love. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/04/05
