I wanted some new captive bead jewlery and some horseshoes. I got a salesperson (male female I couldn't tell) with a tude problem that seemed to think that I was not worth the time. I had looked them up on the advice of a local buisness owner and was under the impression that they were happy to help and knew what they were doing. The store had little jewlery and it seemed that everything that I asked about was not in stock. Some of the things that I could see in the desplay cases were not carried in that store. I don't know about the Portland store, it might be grand. I do know that I will NEVER go back to the Beaverton store and I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to bother. Brian was wonderful. He totally distracted me while dazzling me with his amazing knowledge of piercing lore. It was so quick--not totally painless but not horrible. The adrenaline rush afterwards was worth the minimal pain and tears. - yma , posted 03/04/05 |

Apparently, there are many conflicting views of Black Hole. I had no idea they were so controversial! I was pierced there once, years ago, and was very happy with their service and jewelry selection. I went back a couple weeks ago to get new jewelry and have it put in, and they worked with me for a long time to find exactly what I wanted. And I was very picky. These guys have always been really nice, totally willing to put up with indecisive jewelry shoppers, and can really talk you out of forgetting the pain! I've been very happy and will continue to recommend them. :) -  Er

On vacation, both my girlfriend and I decided to have our toungues pierced. We received a couple recommedations to this shop so we decided to give them a try. We had some problems which when we tried to solve them at the shop, were Not satisfied. While the person we spoke to offered to allow us to speak to "The Owner" we never got past the counter person. When we arrived home, we went to our regular Shop where we have had numerous other piercings done with complete professionalism. We were told that not only were the piercings done poorly but that several things that the person behind the counter told us were just Not True. I would NOT recomend anyone go to this business as with what turned out to be $6.00 worth of jewlery at least One part of the transaction would have been satisfied, as far as the piercings ? Both done by different piercers and both equally poorly done. I wouldn't send Anyone to Black Hole. In My opinion, it's a Black Hole for your money to disappear into. - Bud , posted 10/21/04 |

Its the best in town and I wouldnt trust anyone else although ive never been pierced ther my 52 year old Aunt has and it was her nose that she pierced and she said it didnt hurt and she is a wusie... I myself have gotten pierced at this store on Hawthorne and even though my piercing came out right the piercer is a drunk and was drunk at the time of my piercing... as i later found out. I myself have pierced my own nose before and it doesnt hurt. The only time you really feel it is the last layer of skin.
