Bethany is all around an amazing woman, an artist in the truest fashion. Bethany has known me for about a year, watched me in the party scene, connected with me in our circle of friends so for some time she has been observing how I style my locks. When I finally made it into her salon chair I only knew what to expect through references by friends who had been to see her and had raved about her skills. Not only did she meet the already lofty expectations, but she surpassed them with ease. I wear my hair short and parted to the side and scrunch to emphasize the curl that only teases with brief appearances. I have had my hair cut by a number of stylists in the last few years searching for someone who could style it the way I wanted, even resorting to my best friend who doesn't even cut hair to give it a whirl. Until Bethany, he was the closest. Bethany took my vision directly from the picture in my head and made it the best style I have ever had with out ever describing it to her. oh yes... she is powerful!
Bethany was the first person I totally trusted to do something off the norm with my hair. I wanted a calico mane, and I wanted it dramatic and strong but not shock value, and cheap looking. I had never really put that kind of faith in to a stylist and was terrified what they would do with my color...Till Bethany! I have not been able to find the same satisfaction and pride in my hair since Bethany worked on my hair last. REALLY! I am a cut & color girl:

CUTTING:
I have trained personally (hands-on) with many of the art directors from top salons around the world, including Unite, GHD, Bumble & Bumble, Rusk, TIGI, Hickox, Jingles, ABBA, Sahag, and Sassoon, among others. I am skilled and proficient at using all cutting tools, including shears, texturizing shears, razor (straight edge as well as haircutting razor), and clipper and edging tools.

CHEMICAL:
Bleach/Tone, Highlight/Lowlight, Semi- and Demi-Permanent Haircolor, and Tint. I LOVE COLOR! I am proficient in all aspects of haircolor design, ranging from wild fashion effects to natural blending. Although I used to teach Perming/Straightening techniques, and have even participated in developing Perm Technology (Mad Mats), it is not a service I currently offer, as the available options for modern styling have vastly improved due to advances in Product Technology, and I believe the health of the hair is compromised by these services.

STYLING:
BY CONSULTATION ONLY! I have extensive experience with Photo Styling, Special Occasion, Set, and Blow-Out. I am adept with the techniques of wet- and/or dry- setting the hair, sewing hair, working with wigs and pieces, and dreadlocks. But I do think braids are pedestrian, if you want braiding, I have some references.

CREATIVE:
It is of utmost importance to me to maintain my creativity, as it fuels my inspiration for all aspects of my life. I regularly paint, sketch, write, sing, and dance. My paintings have been displayed and sold in various ways, including in the salon, commercial venues, art events, and private events. My paintings have been published as newsletter/magazine covers. I like to participate onstage in improv/comedy/performance art, and have worked also behind the scenes during staged events. I have been a dedicated member of the Burning Man community for 10 years, and running. I practice Yoga daily, and employ various meditative, spiritual, and dance practices to renew my energy.

I am open to trades of all kinds, so don't be afraid to ask if you would like to do massage, yardwork, automotive, cooking, etc.
