Well I have been in PDX for a year now and as of yet still have managed to barter my rent in two very successful barters. The first was a smaller urban farm situation in NOPO that went pretty well considering cash flow issues and the economy, but all in all I created a huge garden in the shape of a fleur de lie and assisted with e construction of a 20' x10' green house that held over 2000 starts this spring! that space is still a work in progress and continuing to flourish.
The second barter in the SE Closer in area was more of an eco-remodel where I found two used solar hot water panels and installed them on the roof to heat all of the house's hot water needs. I installed a solar hot water heater storage tank, and installed radiant floor heating under the entire house and created some copper Euro-style radiators. I coved most of the walls with American Clay product, built a chicken coop and garden in the back yard after doing a lot of intense landscaping.
So you see I have a wide variety of skills and am wanting to find my next project that I can barter for a place to live beside. My trailer is small enough to fit in to any drive way or backyard as it is only slightly larger than an ave auto. I would like to simply use the facilities and internet. I am seeking out folks with a desire to create sustainably and want to possibly learn more about renewable and sustainable living. I look forward to any suggestions and ideas.
